BRANDON CHESTER, MS, PCLC
Hi, I’m Brandon!
Many people come to therapy feeling conflicted, stuck, or pulled in different directions. Together, we can explore these internal tensions with curiosity rather than criticism. Therapy may involve identifying recurring patterns, processing difficult emotions, trying new perspectives, or reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been overlooked or suppressed. Some clients prefer clear goals and structure, while others benefit from a more open exploratory process. I aim to remain flexible to your needs while maintaining a grounded and reliable presence.
I have extensive experience working with individuals exploring their relationship to substance use and I approach these conversations from a nonjudgmental and collaborative perspective. Before entering the counseling field, I studied world literature and have spent many years involved in music and creative work. I continue to value creativity, self-expression, and reflection as important parts of the growth process.
I am licensed by the state of Montana as a PCLC and am under the supervision of Kathryn Bowen, LCPC who is licensed as a counselor by the state of Montana.
I view clients as the primary source of truth in their own experience. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges with greater clarity, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and connected.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke
I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely understood, accepted, and free to explore their experiences openly. My role as a therapist is to offer a steady, supportive relationship where you can better understand yourself, work through challenges, and move toward meaningful growth and change. I strive to create a space where no topic is off limits and where you can speak honestly without fear of judgment or shame.
I work with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity development, relationship concerns, life transitions, burnout, grief, trauma, existential concerns, family-of-origin patterns, and substance use concerns or those in recovery. I also enjoy working with men’s issues, creative individuals, and clients exploring questions related to meaning, purpose, spirituality, and self-understanding.
