Jamie O’Callaghan, MS, PCLC

Welcome!

Jamie smiling under an evergreen tree

My name is Jamie O’Callaghan, and I am a Professional Counselor Licensed Candidate (PCLC). Prior to becoming a counselor, I earned a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education with a specialization in student services, college student development, and educational psychology.

For more than 22 years, I worked in student services and academic advising, supporting individuals through educational journeys, life transitions, identity development, career exploration, and personal growth.

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University Billings. My background in higher education and counseling allows me to bring a unique perspective to clients navigating life transitions, identity development, academic and career concerns, stress, and periods of change.

I enjoy working with adults and emerging adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, stress, burnout, identity development, academic and career concerns, and periods of change and growth. I also have an interest in executive functioning challenges and supporting clients as they navigate evolving roles, responsibilities, and expectations in work, relationships, and everyday life.

My counseling approach is person-centered, strengths-based, warm, and collaborative. I believe meaningful change happens through authentic connection, self-understanding, and recognizing the strengths people already possess.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed interventions, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, positive psychology, psychoeducation, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and wellness-oriented practices while tailoring therapy to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and needs. I am licensed by the state of Montana as a PCLC and am under the supervision of Kathryn Bowen, LCPC and Emily Grills, LCPC who are licensed as counselors by the State of Montana.

I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves through brain-based education, practical tools, coaching-informed and skills-based strategies, and goal-oriented approaches to build insight, strengthen resilience, support mind-body connection, and create meaningful and sustainable change.

I have lived in Bozeman with my husband for over 25 years, where we have raised our family and built a life rooted in community, adventure, and connection. Outside of counseling, I enjoy skiing, gardening, travel, spending time outdoors, and finding peace near any body of water. Family remains at the center of everything I do, and curiosity continues to guide both my personal and professional life.

“When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” — Fred Rogers
