Jennifer Martin, MS, PCLC

Being raised on a farm in a rural, northern Montana town, I embodied the narrative of “pick yourself up by your bootstraps,” until I hit my limit. Challenging that notion and turning inward to self-exploration, compassion, and instilling healthy boundary setting was and is a journey! Through this journey and reaching burnout in a career of interior design, I chose to take a leap to express my passion for understanding and supporting people, helping them find/feel safety through earning my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College. I am licensed by the State of Montana as a Professional Counselor Licensure Candidate, and am under the supervision of Kathryn Bowen, LCPC.

I am honored to sit alongside people navigating life transitions, trauma, problematic tech use, and the daily weight of anxiety, depression, and disconnection. I would be a trickster if I guaranteed an easy road to healing (unfortunately, my magic wand is still on backorder). This process takes work—it requires dedication to yourself outside the therapy room through honesty and gratitude.

Outside the therapy room, I cherish time with my partner and our dog and cat, exploring Montana’s vast landscapes through hiking, alpine skiing, and quiet moments by the water. I feel most myself and most connected to the universe when I’m tucked away in nature, connecting with the earth, listening to the sounds of creatures, and wind sweeping through vegetation. When I’m not in the mountains, I find inspiration and rejuvenation through traveling—stateside and abroad—which reminds me of the shared humanity and diverse ways people find meaning and connection (and that my sense of direction is, at best, optimistic).

I look forward to meeting you!

Hello and Welcome. I’m Jennifer (Jen) Martin, and I’m thrilled you’re here! Stepping into therapy–whether you’re beginning anew or returning to deepen your work–is an act of both vulnerability and profound self-respect and love. Bravo! (cue the confetti & applause–you’ve already done something brave by showing up!)

I have a passion for creating a safe space for individuals to explore their struggles with mental health supported through compassion, cognitive empathy (I’ll witness and connect with your struggle to share the best ladder for the situation, but I won’t sit at the bottom of the hole with you), humor, and evidenced based practices like somatic awareness, CBT, and IFS (parts work). In our work together, we’ll engage collaboratively—listening deeply to your body’s wisdom and reconnecting with the natural rhythms that support your nervous system. I aim to support your journey of self-discovery, nurture your innate resourcefulness, and help you strengthen the resilience that allows growth and healing to unfold.
