Eva Ticknor, MS, PCLC
Hi, I’m Eva!
Reaching out to a counselor can feel intimidating. You might feel unsure or even skeptical. That’s completely okay. I believe counseling is a relationship that works best when you feel safe and supported. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable discussing the complexities of being human.
I pay attention to the stories we tell about ourselves and the stories we’ve been told. Together, we'll explore your life with fresh eyes, identify the values that matter most to you, and imagine new ways of being in the world.
Our brains weren’t built to make us happy; they were built to keep us safe. Sometimes, that means your mind is doing what it knows, even if it’s no longer helpful. We’ll work together to notice those protective parts, honor what they’ve done for you, and decide what you want to carry forward.
I work with adults of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, sexual orientations, and identities. I support clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting stress, trauma, life transitions, grief, and the deep, confusing experience of being human.
I graduated from Montana State University with a master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling in May 2025. I am licensed by the state of Montana as a PCLC and am under the supervision of Kathryn Bowen, LCPC, and Emily Grills, LCPC.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent ten years as an elementary school teacher. I loved getting to know my students, celebrating their growth, and walking alongside them through both challenges and successes. That experience shaped the way I show up with care and curiosity in my counseling work today. Outside of the office, I recharge in nature. I love hiking, soaking in a backcountry hot spring, and cross-country skiing, all with the light of my life, a four year old labradoodle, Juniper, by my side.
I believe people are doing the best they can with what they’ve been given, and that includes you. Let’s connect and see if we might be a good fit.
