Tammy Machowicz Olszytn, MS, PCLC
Welocme, I’m Tammy!
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve a diverse community. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, with an existential lens and a relational focus, highlighting the importance of embodied presence. I combine counseling and coaching modalities to help you increase self-awareness, identify patterns, reframe challenges, and take meaningful steps toward healing and enhancing your overall well-being. I prioritize creating a warm, supportive, and often playful environment where you feel seen, heard, and supported in all areas of your life.
Counseling is my second career. It naturally builds on over 20 years as a college teaching professor and senior lecturer, as well as being a certified personal and professional coach and public speaker—roles in which I have always focused on creating meaningful connections and improving lives. I earned my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University. I am a PCLC in Montana, working under the supervision of Kathryn Bowen, LCPC.
Originally from Michigan, I have called the Gallatin Valley home for the past three decades with my husband, where we raised and parented three (now, emerging young adults) along with many dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I find renewal in mountain air and flowing rivers, biking, gardening, creating art, and enjoying a good “porch” hangout with my family, friends, and pets.
I provide a supportive space where you can feel empowered to face challenges, embrace change, and be your true self. I can’t wait to meet you!
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” – Carl Jung
Perhaps you're in a time of transition, seeking clarity, relief from anxiety, healing from pain, or a renewed sense of purpose. I get it; life can be messy, unpredictable, and sometimes overwhelming, but it is also full of possibilities.
I believe we are inherently good, have unique strengths, and can live meaningful and connected lives. Our past and present experiences can both enhance our well-being and create challenges, covering a wide range of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors—the full complexity of being human. I partner with you in a collaborative and creative process of discovery, guided by curiosity, compassion, and respect, to help you uncover your own wisdom, strengthen your resilience, and transform past pain into a purposeful present.
