Laura Nejad, MS, LCPC

Hi, I’m Laura - ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS APRIL 1, 2026

If you’re here as a parent near Bozeman, you’re probably trying to understand what’s really going on for your child or teen—and how to help without making things worse.
If you’re a teen reading this yourself, you might just want someone who listens, doesn’t judge, and actually helps.

That’s where I come in.

I believe behavior is communication. When kids or teens act out, shut down, or seem “stuck,” there’s usually something underneath trying to be heard. My job is to help make sense of that—so your child can feel understood and you can feel more confident about next steps.

How I Work With Kids, Teens, and Families

I take a calm, respectful, and practical approach to counseling. Sessions are designed to help young people slow down, understand what they’re feeling, and learn healthier ways to cope and communicate.

I work with neurodivergent children and teens, including those with ADHD and other differences in how their brains process the world. Rather than trying to “fix” a child, I focus on understanding how their nervous system works, what supports them best, and how to build skills in ways that actually fit who they are.

Depending on age and needs, I use:

  • Conversation that feels natural, not forced

  • Creative tools like play or art to help express big feelings

  • Skill-building to support emotional regulation, flexibility, and confidence

  • Developmentally appropriate strategies that work for neurodivergent and neurotypical kids alike

Respect is the foundation of my work. Every client—at every age—is treated with dignity, honesty, and care. Therapy isn’t about correcting behavior; it’s about understanding it and creating tools that help kids and teens feel more capable in their everyday lives.

About My Background

I earned my master’s degree in Counseling from Montana State University and am licensed in the state of Montana as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I bring experience working with individuals impacted by disability, systemic trauma, and neurodivergence, and I’m thoughtful about creating a space that feels grounded, respectful, and ethical.

At Bozeman Counseling Center, collaboration matters. When appropriate, I value working alongside caregivers and within the broader support system to help create consistency and progress outside of sessions.
